Aloha!  Meet Mailani Makainai.  She is the oldest of five siblings and a Kahalu'u native that first grew up in Kailua Town.  From pre-kindergarten all the way up to her senior year, Mailani attended Maryknoll Schools in Honolulu, Hawaii.  She is a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a bachelor's degree in Hawaiian Studies.  Mailani is also a licensed masseur and hopes to open her own privated business in the future while tying in the Hawaiian culture as well.  Often times you can find Mailani surfing the south shore of O'ahu or hanging out with her friends and just playing or listening to music.

Mailani started signing at the age of two and taught herself 'ukulele while in high school.  Both her parents were a part of school choirs in their time and perhaps that is where she gets her beautiful voice!  Composing music came after the group Keahiwai was born, but Mailani has proven herself to write songs that all people can enjoy.
