November 2, 2006

Aloha everyone!  Well, it's finally up & running ... for the most part at least.  There's still a lot more work to be done to this webpage but we thought we'd give you a little update on what's been going on.  As you may or may not know, our two new releases will be coming out this month!  Our 4th full length album is entitled "Changing."  Release date for that one is schedule for Tuesday, November 21st.

If all goes as planned, we will also be releasing our very first full-length Christmas album a week earlier on Tuesday, November 14th.  We are extremely excited to be taking on the release of two albums at once.  So excited that we are even having a CD release party.  Now, it may not be as full blown as others, but we're keeping it in line with our style of simplicity.  So, we invite all of you to come down to Gordon Biersch on Sunday, November 26th for an informal celebration of our two new releases.  See our calendar for more details!

One last thing before we go.  We want to thank Resort Quest Hawaii for inviting us to be a part of their Moonlight Concert series at the Kapiolani bandstand last week Friday.  It was a beautiful night with a beautiful crowd and we hope everyone there enjoyed the show.  Kapena rocked the house (as they always do) right after us to close the show.  We got to sell a bunch of CD's and hopefully made some new fans!

We're going to be quite busy for the next couple of months so expect to see (and hopefully hear) a lot more of us soon!  Take care everyone and drive safely in this crazy weather!

Love & Aloha,
Keahiwai

Welcome to the newest version of the official Keahiwai website.  We've changed our color schemes and eliminated that nasty black background that's so hard on the eyes.  After numerous requests we've also decided to bring back one of the features from our previous site: the chords for our songs.  We'll also keep working on bringing back as many of the photos as we can.  For now, we hope you enjoy what we do have to offer.

A small update on what's been going on with the girls: we are currently back in the studio finishing up our 4th full length album which should be out in stores by the end of November.  The album is yet to be named, but what we can tell you is that, like the Dangerous CD, it is 100% original.  We recorded a few covers in the past on our first two albums but found that it was our original music that really caught the attention of listeners out there.  So, we continued to hone in on our song-writing skills and we're hoping the end result will be much appreciated.

Also to be released by the end of November is our first full-length Christmas CD.  Many of you die-hard fans have written to us saying that you have ALL of our CD's except for the Christmas single.  Well now's your chance!  Make sure to keep your eyes and ears open for this one because it'll only be in stores during the holidays!  We've covered nine classic carols on this album and of course threw in the two songs from the "Christmas Is Here" single released back in 2001.

Something else you can look out for is our guest appearance on "Living Live with the Baraquio's."  The sisters were nice enough to invite us back on the show which should be airing in December.  Tune into Oceanic cable channel 16 for that along with many other local programming.

For those of you who didn't know, we FINALLY got to go to Japan for the first time in July!  The bulk of our trip was spent in beautiful Yokohama which just so happens to be the hometown of Lei's family.  It was such a mind-blowing experience, especially for Mailani who has never been there before.  Lei, on the other hand, enjoyed seeing a different part of the country since her last trip kept her in the city of Tokyo.  We'd like to thank all the people who were responsible for bringing us up there in the first place, along with the hard working crew that took care of our every need during the trip.  Two people in particular were most gracious: Fumiko & Hiromi - we love you two with all our hearts and absolutely cannot wait until the next trip!  The last performance took us to Tokyo where we got to perform for some very important people in the media.  Hopefully you all enjoyed what we had to offer.  To all the fans that came out for the Yokohama Hawaii Festival (some even attending more than one out of our five performances), we appreciate all of your support and hope to see you all again soon!  A big mahalo also goes out to the two radio stations we got to do interviews at while we were there: InterFM & Shonan Beach FM.

Well, that's it for now folks.  Until next time, please enjoy the new site and thanks for visiting!

Love & Aloha,
Keahiwai
